Each year, we are honored to nominate six pieces from the last volume of Prairie Schooner for a Pushcart Prize. And it's a challenge. We love every piece we publish, and choosing among the things you love... Well, it's almost unbearable. Nevertheless, we find a way to make our choices, sit back, and admire the glow. We'd like you to admire them, too, and join us is wishing them the best of luck in the next step of the selection process.
"Hospice" by Robin Becker (poem, Summer 2009)
"Nothing Extra" by Marly Swick (short story, Fall 2009)
